Just imagine you are presented with three gifts: one is the cheapest plastic glass; second is the world most expensive watch - the 201 caratChopard of USD 25 million; and the third is the technically complicated Patek Phillipe’s Supercomplication watch of USD 11 million.
You leave it all in a room and join your party guests. But when you come back, you find one year old baby playing with the gifts. Of course, the baby is too young to appreciate the value of the gifts.
If the child breaks the plastic glass, you would not be that upset. There millions of the glasses in the world and each of them dog cheap.
But you would be horror stricken to find the baby playing with Chopard of USD 25 million, because this watch is unique, handmade, and really precious.
The same time Patek Phillipe’s Supercomplication watch is also very valuable, because it is unique of its technical complexity. The baby could simply break it with no understanding of the value.
Have you ever thought how complicated is the dragonfly body flying outside your window? It is even more complicated than any precious watch.
And what about a forest where you like to walk? Its value is so high, because of the oxygen it produces. We would not survive without it.
Nevertheless, we act as babies, because we never appreciate the value.
80% of wild fire is caused by people.
A human destroys thoughtlessly those alike, but also animals and plants that inhabit our unique home – the Earth. Here we possess inimitable conditions for our living.
We have to study and to learn since the very childhood how to appreciate and respect people around us as well as the nature!
That is why we have come to the Boarding school #1( It is a boarding school for children who have diabetes mellitus problems) jointly with “Vmeste” organization to talk with children on necessity to appreciate and respect other people as well as treat carefully the nature.
During the event we have taught children how to treat animals, what to feed them with, and where to call in aid. The animal advocates have also told children about the rights of pets as well as liabilities of their owners.
Children have watched an interesting film about pets and how to take care about them, but also protection of wild animals from domestic garbage.
We have organized couple of games during the meeting. Children have answered questions on animals’ care as well as life situation.
Each of the participants has received informative booklets, a book about animals, and some stationery.
Afterwards a trained dog Malish has come out to perform his skills. Some children have even tried themselves as trainers.
We hope that such meetings will make us to be more respectful to those around us as well as the nature we inhabit. We must also recognize the value of the gift we obtain. This is our home – the Earth we live in!
